I Will Dance

I will dance unashamed before my Lord, God, and King
Giving glory to the Father, I will give everything

I will walk unashamed before my Lord, God, and King
Giving glory to the Father, I will give everything

I will walk without fear before my Lord, God, and King
Giving glory to the Father, I will give everything

To the praise of his name

I Believe

Oh, I believe
That I will see
The goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living

Set Your Love Upon Me

Set your love upon me
Place it right on my heart
Believe me when I say
My love will never part

Help me when I’ve fallen
Help me when I fail
Receive me once again
No matter how frail

Set your love upon me
Let the healing waters flow
May peace and love abound
Wherever we go

Lifting up the hopeless
I have found a place
Where mercy finds a friend
I have seen your face

Set your love upon me
Keep me warm through the night
Bring me safely home
Enraptured delight

Jesus, you are holy
You are my best friend
You are the son of God
The beginning and the end

Set your love upon me
Place it right on my heart
And I will be with you, my friend

Thank You, Lord

Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer
And showing you care for me
Thank you, Lord, for being so good
And loving me faithfully

I’ve received the hope you gave to me
I’ve received the gift of your son
I’ve received the love that set me free
‘Cause I believe that you’re the one

Who created my life
Who created this world
Who made all things by your right hand
Who’s redeeming my life
By the blood of your son
And made my heart to understand

That you are my father
And I am your child
And forever it will be
I have a purpose
And you have a plan
For all eternity

Thank you, Lord, for all that you are
And all that you’re going to be
Thank you, Lord, for hearing my heart
And keeping your faith in me

I will sing my praises to you
I will sing of what you have done
I will sing of all your glory
‘Cause I believe that you’re the one

Pat, Pat, Pat

Pat, pat, pat
Ouch, I thought,
That hurts my back.

Pat, pat, pat
Really more of a slap,
Your hand on my back.

Pat, pat, pat
Just a quick embrace,
Only a moment’s attack.

Pat, pat, pat
I smiled with the pain.
How harmless is that?

Pat, pat, pat
One day I said, “Ouch,
That hurts my back.”

Pat, pat, pat
You rolled your eyes.
I was taken aback.

Pat, pat, pat
Such a small thing
Caused such a large crack.

Pat, pat, pat
Looking for love
In a gap full of lack

Pat, pat, pat
Only a memory now
That can’t fight back.

Pat, pat, pat

Lord on High

Oh, my soul doth magnify
Oh, my soul doth magnify
Oh, my soul doth magnify
The Lord on high

He is worthy
He is mighty
He is holy
He is the Lord on high

He is lovely
He is mercy
He is victory
He is the Lord on high

Oh, the Lord doth satisfy
Oh, the Lord doth satisfy
Oh, the Lord doth satisfy
He is the Lord on high

He is worthy
He is mighty
He is holy
He is the Lord on high

He is lovely
He is mercy
He is victory
He is the Lord on high

The Lost Poem

The Work of Faith

Groping for love in a darkened place
My soul has been searching for the light of his face
Grace that was shrouded by the stain of my sin
Now embraced by my faith to let his love in

How hard to believe that only faith brings this gift
Not one of my works could my soul lift
Out of the pit, out of hell here on earth
_______________ glorious new birth

*****

I am my beloved’s and he is mine.

*** This poem has been lost, which is very sad to me. It was such a triumphant statement of faith, and I believe it was one of my best. This was in the very early days of computers, and I had one printed copy which I gave to a stranger; but then my computer crashed and no record of it was saved. This is all I can remember. I hope one day that it will magically return to me. This is also one of the main reasons I require my students to maintain a blog today so that they may keep a record of their own work. =)

Weighed in the Scales

You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales of heaven above
You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales and been found without love

Listen to me, my fellow man
No matter where your journey ends
You can’t take with you what you hold in your hand
Only love will make you a rich man

You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales of heaven above
You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales and been found without love

How many people do you really love?
How many people do you think of?
Who will be with you through thick and thin?
How many people do you call a friend?

You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales of heaven above
You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales and been found without love

Jesus is the Lord of the earth
Jesus is the Lord of new birth
Jesus is from heaven above
Only Jesus can teach us to love

Well, he laid down His life
A living sacrifice
He was despised by men
But then He rose again

You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales of heaven above
You’ve been weighed in the scales
And you’ve been found a’wanting
Weighed in the scales and been found without love

All these things will soon pass away
And then will come the Judgment Day
Will your labor bring you a reward?
Love is the only work you can afford
