Blank Page

by Janis Gaines

Blank page
Don’t stare at me
With your empty eyes
And mocking company
Somehow taunting
All that I could say
Somehow daring me
To write it anyway
On a clean white page
I leave my black marks
Messages hidden there
A brief idea sparks
Splitting into another
Atomic revealing
Now under my skin
Revelation brings healing
Tit for tat, this and that
The words begin to spin
My heart breaks wide open
My lips purge their sin
And I am reborn
Having tainted the page
With my rambling discourse
